Garden of Eden Dive Resort

A journey through nature, history, and community

Our Wawa Eco-Tour begins with a brief introduction, followed by an exciting Jeepney ride toward Calapan, the vibrant provincial capital of Oriental Mindoro. The route takes us along the stunning coast of Mindoro, past secluded beaches and idyllic landscapes. Along the way, we stop at the impressive Tamaraw Falls, a natural wonder that provides perfect photo opportunities. Another stop allows you to enjoy a panoramic view over the Sabang Peninsula – an unforgettable moment for memorable photos.

Upon arrival in Calapan, you will enjoy a short but impactful city tour, offering insight into the vibrant life of this charming provincial town. A highlight of the visit is the Calapan Heritage Museum, which celebrates the rich culture and craftsmanship of the Mangyan tribes, focusing on the impressive traditions of these indigenous communities.

From here, we continue our journey to the embarkation station in the village of Wawa. Surrounded by the tranquil natural beauty of the region, we delve into the history of a seismic event that profoundly shaped Mindoro – the 7.1-magnitude earthquake in 1994, known as the Aglubang River Fault. This natural disaster led to a devastating tsunami with waves up to six meters high, ravaging numerous coastal communities, including Malaylay, Old Baco, Wawa, and Baco. Tragically, the disaster claimed at least 58 lives, mostly children and elderly people.

As part of our tour, we contribute to the community by distributing essential school supplies and donations to children and schools in the affected areas – a symbol of our solidarity and support.

The grand finale of our journey takes us to the enchanting Lantuyan Falls. Here, amid the peaceful nature and the soothing sound of the waterfalls, we enjoy a delicious barbecue. This relaxing meal in the picturesque setting forms the perfect end to a rewarding and unforgettable tour.
