Garden of Eden Dive Resort
An activity full of history and spectacular views
Immerse yourself in the fascinating history and breathtaking beauty of the Sinandigan Lighthouse and Escarceo Point – one of Puerto Galera’s hidden gems. This activity is perfect for adventurers who love nature, history, and spectacular views.
The Sinandigan Lighthouse, located about 2 kilometers from Sabang, stands proudly above a picturesque coastal landscape. The original lighthouse was built in 1955, while a new, modern lighthouse now complements the historic structure. This area also features the remains of the old lighthouse quarters as well as a telecommunications tower. Escarceo Point, a steep hill along the coast, offers an unparalleled panoramic view. From here, you’ll enjoy a vista stretching from Batangas to Calapan, with spectacular views of nearby dive sites, coastal beaches, and nearby islands like Verde Island.
A special highlight is the opportunity to climb the old lighthouse structure. A spiral staircase takes you to the top, where you’ll be treated to an unforgettable view of the dramatic limestone cliffs, the bright blue waters, and the surrounding islands. This breathtaking sight will leave you in awe!
The trail to the lighthouse passes through the charming village of Sinandigan, accessible via a steep, partially paved road from Sabang. The hike itself takes about 20 to 30 minutes and follows a path worn by previous visitors through the limestone landscape. For those who prefer a more comfortable journey, tricycles or jeepneys are available in Puerto Galera to take you to the starting point of the hike.
